web site session sites?

I sometimes find myself sitting at someone else’s computing using their web browser. With all of their sessions and cookies. So say, going to a given website I get their login.

I can log them out of their accounts and log me in, but thats annoying. Some firefox extensions exist that seem to support multiple users per browser, but that requires extensions.

I wonder if it would be possible to setup a proxy website that would store all my various session info so I could retain it as I switched machines.

I’m not exactly well versed in web stuff these days, but it seems like it should be doable. Maybe such a thing already exists.

random thoughts

I wonder if there is any correlation between folks who are fontophiles and “neat” handwriting?  Aka, are people who are hyperaware of typography more or less likely to have “neat” handwriting? If I was in 8th grade, that would be my science project.

I would like to see a compilation of what people consider the best hiding spots in their homes. Maybe a 3d heatmap to visualize it. It would be an interesting set of data to see. The implications of collecting the data would be tough though. Might as well ask people what their secrets are, or what they use for passwords?

is it hot or not

I want soda cans that change color when they are cold.

Just so I can spot the one cold drink out of the dozen empty cans littering my desk.

Or perhaps someway to mark a can as belonging to a random person. Maybe clone the
way fountain drink lids have small bubbles to push down to identify different types
of drinks. 5 indention’s would be enough to cover 32 people.

circuit bending, er, doodling?

todays experiment

Draw on a circuit board kit, etch with gnarly solvent, rinse. I think I need to work on my circuit etching skills a bit. I think I could of gotten more detail if I tried, and probably better coverage. Wonder what it costs to get something done professionally.

The logical next step would be to do it with a real working circuit. Maybe something that makes an obnoxious amount of noise.

smell

From here on, “xml” will now be pronounced “smell” instead of “ex em ell”.

Also, “sql” will be pronounced “squel!” instead of “ess que ell”. The exclaimation is not optional.

And of course, “giga” should be pronounced with a j sound. As in “1.82 gigawatts”. “mega” may or may not be pronounced with an invisible “W” if the user prefers.

wasabi and soy sauce

Other random idea: I would buy premixed wasabi and soy sauce (aka, wasabi-joyu) if they sold it.

Why? Because I like to pour the soy sauce onto sushi rolls, and it would be convenient if I could easily poor wasabi/soy sauce mix that way. Someone should make that.

personal book search

random idea: It would be cool, if you could combine a personal book database with an online book search engine.

aka, search for “sendmail smallblock fuzzface” in the full text of books, but only the books I own.

Be it something like Delicious Library, or even say, Amazons knowledge of what books I’ve bought, I still think this would be handy.

Even if the search only returned a paragraph or so of context, along with page numbers.

Bonus points if it could also search books friends own, or say, the nearest library.
