Shopping for a new car makes the freshly born baby jesus cry.

In other news, I’ve had an awesome Christmas. Much gift giving and receiving.

taplop

My OLPC XO arrived yesterday. I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to do with not one, but two tiny laptops. But what the hell, toys.

On that note, I noticed that sunday’s Simpsons featured an ad for the OLPC G1G1 program. Which is odd, since the program ended two weeks ago.

random

Christmas shopping is probably ~80% done at this point. Which puts me far a head of my usual status at this point.

The Eee PC seems pretty cool. It seems to do what it claims.

I need to figure out some sort of shared storage and backup system for my personal machines. I have a desktop, and soon to be 4 laptops[1]. And I have stuff randomly spread across all of them. I need to at least consolidate the photo storage. And meaningful backups would be handy. Offsite network accessible storage would be nice as well.

[1] apparently, I have a problem

grumble

The webhost account that I use for my mail seems to have been screwed up for the last 24 hrs or so. So I’m currently not getting email. Annoying.

gimme gimme gimme

It’s that time of year.

Time to do some gift shopping for folks. So I want to know folks want. Don’t expect to get it from me though. Looking for ideas more than anything.

What do you want for Christmas/Xmas/TheHolidays?

Also, if you have any pointers to any good/clever/interesting gift guides, point them to me.
