Finished the Christmas shopping. All in all, took about ten hours. I’m slowing down. At least I didn’t wait until Christmas eve this year. Though last year I did it all on line and was done early. Just procrastinated this year.

grumble. One of my mediawiki installs has started getting spammed. Supposedly it’s setup to require a login to edit, but that config doesn’t seem to be taking for some reason.
On a vaguely related note, I’ve noticed that my personal Planet rss aggregator page gets all sorts of interesting hits from google. It’s kind of fascinating the things people search on. Even more fascinating how many people will go dozens of pages deep into the results. I can only assume people are using web based aggregators as an easy way to attract hits for adwords and the like.
It appears someone has patented the idea of using flechette rounds to clear mine fields.
Now thats uncoventional thinking. Namely, the Hague Convention, and the Geneva Convetions, which according to some, outlaw the use of flechettes. Though, it could be argue that that only applies when used against human targets.
Struck me as somewhat ironic.

Wake County Public Library Booksale
The Wake County Library Booksale starts tomorrow. Whenever I go, it always fascinates me just how many copies of
“Futureshock” the library seems to have. It seems to be about every 20th book on the tables.
Maybe I’ll wait till the last day, and then buy up a couple boxes full of “Futureshock”. And then sneak them back
into the library during the year.
