Spork! Foon!

Carving project number 2. It didn’t start out to be a spork. Just kind of evolved that
way. Interestingly enough,
weird spoons
are apparently a pretty common begining carving project.

Was going to take pics with my camera, but it’s mostly useless these days, so
tried the scanner approach. I think I like the aesthetic it gave better anyway.

So, this interview meme thing seems to actually be producing some occasionally
interesting results.

So, here goes. Got any questions for me?

More bad ebay discoveries. One being cars.

The other being memorabilia. Not that I’m a huge sports guy or
a collector. But it may be hard to pass up
Kurt
Rambis memorabilia
. After all, he is the greatest player to
ever grace the NBA.

Bic z4 gel pens are nice. Maybe even better than the
pentel suburst gel’s I’ve been favoring recently. For
all the cheap pen geeks.

I’m on the lookout for a Mustang again. Preferably a 64 1/2 – 66. Already
found a couple locally that look pretty nice. Unlike last time, I want this
one to be running and drivable from the start. Not having a garage
or easy access to my dad’s assortment of tools (and for that
matter, easy access to my dad) means fixer-uppers and
“great candidate for restoration” or more or less out of the
question.

Made yet another dangerous discovery about ebay. People
sell tools there. Lots of them. I like buying tools. It’s kind of
like buying books. A surrogate for actually doing something.
The unfortunate thing is that most of the tools seem to be
of the crappy flea market variety and generally low quality.
And it can be hard to sense that from pics.

Here’s a shot in the dark. Anyone have a email or mail
address for Don Herbert, aka Mr. Wizard? Haven’t had much
luck googling…

Skipped lug last night. Went to the trivia thing at King’s
Monday. Finished tied for 4th from last. Not too bad
for a two person team (other being deviant_)
with a max team size of 6. Ran into jason0x21.
He said nice things about my doodles.
Much appreciated.

Spent today generating kickstarts that don’t seem to
want to cooperate.

Things to do when your bored.

Scan small things at insane resolutions. Kind of a weird cross
between macro photography and Jasper Johns.

Hours of fun for the whole family.
