The ozzy visits the white house article got me thinking. Whats the obvious
sequel to the Osbounes? well, the Dio’s of course!

to continue on yesterday’s theme… brokennewyork.com

the stickwire mailling list
is begining to annoy me. It’s a list fo Chapman Stick players.
The annoying part about the list is that the creator of the instrument is just a whee bit
too protective of his intellectual propertiy rights (at least, I think so…). To the
point of patenting tunings and playing techniques, and copyrighting anything he can.
He probabaly has the right to do that, I just find it kind of annoying at times. Especially
when the list erupts into flamewars that match the best of the free software vs others flamewars.

It’s enough to make me consider selling my Stick, or more likely, letting one the
Japan Air guys borrow it indefinately.

There appears to be a short video story about Theremins on cnn.com
It seems to require a cnn subscription however.

The list of dead deparment stores got me thinking about one I
used to work at.

I worked at a Roses department school while in high school.
This story
sounds really really familar.

The chain went bankrupt in 1993, but stay in business.
The
Business Journal
seems to have some info about the details.

Ah, google, I do love you so.

Okay, nostalgia inspired internet scavenger hunt is now over.

Ah, a dirt mall reference site!

There is only one North Carolina mall listed
though, I can think of at least three that would
be good candidates.

I love urban decay. Or even suburban decay.

‘aight, blah

spent the weekend in winston-salem visting friends. Delivered
the korg ms2000 to it’s new owners.

Caught three shows in two days.

First up was The Finks at The Seed Gallery. Interesting show. They set up inside
an “installation” at the gallery and played, with a couple of dv cameras hooked
to lcd projectors in the courtyard.

Also caught Baby Skaker & Penny Royalty
at the garage. And then on saturday, neidermeyer
and The Evoka Project, also at
The Garage. Mostly typical
rock stuff, nothing too overwhelming.

Looks like they have a handful of interesting shows lined up at
ps211
that I think I might have to make it back into town to check out.

Didn’t look at a computer all weekend.

…and one more small errata for python-popt to fix an
dep error introduced into the recent rpm errata.

The amount of pain that silly little commandline parsing
stuff has caused me is great. why oh why did I
just not stick to getopt…
