Looks like the Japan Air boys are going to be opening for Lake Trout at Ziggy’s in Feburary. Excelllent.

Recipe for Weird Noise:
Stack up three “modulated delays” all on different width/speed/time/regen settings,
all fairly extreme. Add distortion afterwards. And then a big delay. Mindlessly entertaining.

More e-bay goodies arived.

Decided to get out of town for the birthday weekend and go visit
the guys in Japan Air.
aka, good friends I’ve known since middle school. The rough mix
of their cd candidate sounds pretty good. No real surpise though,
we share pretty similar musical taste except they are actually
talented. Much listening to Ozric Tentacles, Material/Laswell,
and Antonio Carlos Jobim. For some reason that seemed to
be the musical theme of the weekend.

Anyone have some spare motivation. Christmas + Snow is making
it real hard to get back into the swing of accomplishing things. Not good
considering the deadlines approaching.

Wonder if I should actually put up a picture instead of the melting slime
image I so love. Or maybe a good Kurt Rambis pic.

It’s snowing. Alot.

Aside from that, not accomplishing alot of anything.

Been browsing harsh noise and circuit bending web
sites. I think I like it. Or I’ve lost my mind.
Possibly both. After tracking down some mp3’s, I
see why everyone points to Merzbow. Definitely seems
the most interesting bits of what I’ve found so far.
At least as far as that apparently strictly defined genre seems to go (reading some of the websites reminds me of Maximum Rock & Roll, where insane amount of time is wasted arguing who is/isnt in said genre…)

Looks like Lawrence Lessing is gonna be on charlie
rose tonight, might be interesting.
