My car broke down saturday while shopping for a costume for
The Barristers Ball at Kings.

Ended up in a pseudo 70’s detective outfit. Since my car was
not starting, I ended up riding with NSD, which was good, because
then it gave me an excuse to drink too much. I think about twice
a year is my limit for excessive drinking. I enjoyed myself.’

Having your car not start, and suddenly realizing that you
don’t have many tools with you, and even less idea about
how a modern car works, kind of sucks. Apparently something called
a “automatic shutoff sensor” was somehow bad, and
was causing my car not to start. So my initial impression
of “oh crap, theres no way I can fix this myself” seems
to have been true, since I have never heard of an
“automatic shutdown sensor”, nor would have any idea
how to diagnose that, or where it is, or how to replace it.
Of course, more than likely, someone plugged in a diagnostic
anaylsis util and a big blinking light said “replaces the
automatic shutdown sensor, it’s all busted”, but still.

One more excuse to start looking for a vintage mustang
again perhaps.

But if nothing else, I enjoyed the party, and I found a
speak&spell for $2 to try circuit bending.

And not having a car for even a day or two in Raleigh sucks.
