Went to a friend from school’s wedding in Manteo over the weekend.
Had fun.

Wedding was in Manteo, so the drive out there was interesting. I think
I some point there needs to be a state law disallowing any new roads
to be named with variations of “64”. Discovered on the way back the
large detour I took wasnt really needed. But hey, I least I got to
drive though Edenton and Scuppernog.

Arrived, checked into the hotel. Drove out to Kill Devil Hills. At which
point I realized that the directions I was given “mile post 8.5 on the
big road” weren’t as bad as they initially seemed. Drove around more
after finding out the location for the dinner had changed.

Talked. Lots of reminiscencing.

Wedding was saturday at the Elizabethan Gardens. Nice spot
for the wedding. At least, sans the 50F temperatures and 20
mph winds. Then off to the reception.

Nice reception. Sushi bar. Lots of food. Open bar. Including
the grooms home brew “Kung-Fu Brew”. Fun had by all.

While driving around Manteo/Duck/Kill Devil Hills/etc, I had
to wonder if anyone actually lives there. Seemed to be about
90% tourists. And as best I could tell, this is still “off-season”

Went and visited the NC Aquarium on sunday. Saw the biggest
snapping turtle I’ve ever seen. Also went by the Wright Brothers
memorial and wandered about. Considering this is the closing in
on the 100th anniversary of the flight, the area seemed to be
in somewhat of a shambles, with lots of construction still
pending.
