So I’m browsing amazon, in a buying mood, picking off a few items on
the wish list and what not, and take a look at one of recomendations
it offers having throwing Symbol Sourcebook by Henry Dreyfuss in the
“cart”.

The suggestion is for
Dictornary Of Symbols
. I take a look “inside the book”, looks kind of
interesting, but only a page or two of real content.

But then I notice a bad review from Raleigh of all places. And I recognize the
name even!

Small world, etc, etc.

It occured to me that I don’t really have any good pictures of
my self for friendster/orkut/ the like. So I started trawling about.
Didn’t find any good pictures (not sure any exist) but I did remember
a couple various drawings some friends of mine have done at
various points.

Personal favorite:

The latter was sketched out on the back of cocktail napkin
original, so excuse the small size.

Party went well. I think 20 or so folks show up.

We had plenty (_way_ plenty) of drinks and
snacks.

Atari 2600 action was had. At some point
I witness Jenga being played. I’m fairly
sure I had never actually seen someone play
jenga in person before.

Before folks arrived I turned on the tv
and put
The Way Things Go
in the dvd player on loop.
Mainly I just wanted something to make sure folks
didn’t decide to try to watch “The Matrix” again
or something.

The result was somewhat unexpected. At any
given time, there were half a dozen people
watching the dvd debating what was gonna
happen next, if it was edited, how this or
that worked. It seemed to get folks talking
to each other, so probably a good thing.

I got to tell anyone who would listen I built
the coatrack and cd rack.

As best I could tell, nothing was stolen or
broken. Now just to start cleaning up.

Thanks to everyone who showed up. I
appreciate it.
